An old idea, reimagined. Personal warmth isn’t new. Long before central heating, Dutch households used a stoof: a small wooden footwarmer filled with hot coals. A simple idea: warm the person, not the room.

Stoov founder Teun van Leijsen grew up with his grandfather’s stoofje. Years later, when his wife Marly was pregnant with their first child, that idea found its way back to him.

Inspired by the heated seat in his car, Teun built a warming element into a cushion so Marly could enjoy the garden for longer. 

And the first Stoov was born. A name inspired by the Dutch stoof (pronounced Stove) but with a little twist. 

What started as an idea has grown into a full range of cordless infrared Warmables, designed in-house by our team in the Netherlands.

For more than a decade, we’ve been pushing personal warmth forward, combining infrared technology, bold design and smarter ways to stay comfortable. 

Today, Stoov is a category leader in cordless warmth, trusted by more than 1.8 million Stoov’ers across Europe and beyond.
