How Stoov started
Founded in 2014 by Teun van Leijsen, the first Stoov prototype was born while Teun’s wife Marly was pregnant. Marly loved to spend her evenings outside in the garden but she would get chilly, so Teun set about looking for a sustainable heating solution.
Having always been entrepreneurial and inspired by new ideas and design that didn't cost the earth. He experimented with rewiring the heated seat element of his car so Marly could use it to stay warm while enjoying their garden, and so the first Stoov prototype was born.

A more sustainable way forward
Soon after he created the first Stoov prototype, Teun left behind his career in banking and began his multi-coloured heated cushion journey. Starting out selling business to business, he soon realised that there was a real consumer demand for cordless, sustainable heated products. He focused his energy into designing innovative infrared warming technology and a heated product that had a positive impact on the planet.
Since 2014 Stoov has made tremendous impact and it's product range has grown from cushions, to blankets to Warmables 1.5 million Stoover's have joined the warmth revolution. Will you join too?
